The German Church in Charlotte spreads God's word and offers a place of fellowship for the German-speaking population in and around Charlotte.
We are a caring Christian community where people of all nationalities interested in practicing or learning the German language are invited to attend our services and programs.
Our church services are in German. We create a familiar environment for families and individuals to develop contacts within the local community.
The children groups of our German Learning Center were founded five years ago. We meet every Tuesday morning at St. Mark's Lutheran Church for fun and learning.
Enrico Leicht is our new permanent pastor, who celebrates regular worship services, who
is able to offer baptisms, weddings, as well as confirmation classes, and who
steers the group of sponsors and interested individuals in the direction of an
organized worshipping congregation, has only become stronger.
The German Church in Charlotte is not yet a fully organized church congregation, but was given the status of an “Authorized Worshipping Community” by the synod of the ELCA of North Carolina. It is being led by the Steering Committee. Three committees in the area of 1. worship/music, 2. visits/outreach, stewardship and 3. children/youth are planning the actual work and overseeing the groups and projects.
